How-To-Clear-The-DNS-Cache-In-Windows-8-and-10

This post guides how to clear the DNS Cache in Windows 8 and 10. By removing the DNS server, all invalid addresses—whether they are out-of-date or have been modified—will be eliminated. It’s also important to keep in mind that emptying the cache is straightforward.

Take these actions:

  1. Go to the Start option and type Run into the search bar.
  2. In the Run box, type cmd and click Enter.
  3. The command window will start. Now, carry out the below command:

Ipconfig /flushdns C: Usersusername

  • The command goes through and then returns to the prompt.
  • Type the word exit. The window has now been shut.
  • The message “cannot end the program as it may still be running” may pop up. You can choose to ignore that.
  • To end, simply click the End Now button, which is secure.

On Windows 8 and 10, the DNS cache can be cleared in this manner. Contact our bodHOST specialists if you need any further assistance. Also, read more about How to Test DNS with Dig and Nslookup.
