December 14, 2015 / General Discussion

If you are looking to import your existing web application installation into Softaculous, then you will need to follow the instructions below.

The first thing you will need to do is log in to your cPanel account. You will do this by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel (Yourdomain.com will actually be the name of your own domain.)

Once you logged into cPanel you will see a Softaculous icon. You now are going to want to click on the icon.

Now you are going to have to search for your web application. You will do this by typing in the name of your application in the search bar located in the top right-hand corner. Your application will probably come up before you have typed in the full name. Same thing as if you are typing in the address to a website that you have recently visited.

After you click on your application name you will be looking at an overview page for that application in Softaculous. In the top right-hand corner there is an import button, you want to click that button.

Once you hit the import button you prompted to select a domain name. This is the domain name that the application installed under. Find your domain and choose it. For instance, if you have your WordPress installed at http://www.yourdomain.com/myblog, then the domain that you will select is www.yourdomain.com/.

After you choose the correct domain, you are also going to have to enter the location of your installed app. This done in the Directory field. If you were going off the example above, then my blog would be entered into the Directory field. Keep in mind that the directories are case-sensitive.

Now all you have to do is hit the import button and you have just imported your existing web application into Softaculous.
