This tutorial explains how to create and publish a poll on your Joomla 1.5 website. Polls are useful when you want to collect quick feedback from visitors — for example, asking how they like your website, a product, or a service.

Follow the steps below to create a poll:

Step 1: Create a New Poll
  1. Log in to your Joomla administrator area.
  2. Go to Components → Polls.
  3. Click New.
  4. Enter a name for the poll (for example: “Please tell us how you like our website”).
  5. On the left side, add the answer options (for example: Needs Improvement, Not Bad, Good, Superb).
  6. Click Save.
Step 2: Publish the Poll Using a Module
  1. Go to Extensions → Module Manager (or use the module menu available in the top area).
  2. Create or edit a Poll module.
  3. Set the module title (for example: “How do you like our website?”).
  4. If you prefer not to show the title on the frontend, set Show Title to No.
  5. Under Module Parameters, select the poll you just created from the Poll dropdown.
  6. Choose the module position where you want the poll to appear (for example, sidebar or homepage position).
  7. Set the module status to Published.
  8. Click Save.

Once saved, the poll will appear on the frontend of your website in the selected position.

Final Note

Using this method, you can create multiple polls for different purposes, such as gathering feedback on products, services, or website experience.

Important: Joomla 1.5 is a very old version and is no longer supported. For better security and features, it is strongly recommended to upgrade to a modern version of Joomla.
