How to Use the Telnet Command

Steps to use Telnet:

   1. Enter the Telnet command in the following format:
      telnet [server IP address] [port]

      This tests if the server at IP address 192.168.0.100 is listening on port 13531.
4. Enable Telnet (if not already enabled):
   1. Open the control panel and navigate to programs and features.
   2. Click Turn Windows features on or off (on the left).
   3. Check the boxes for Telnet client and Telnet server.
   4. Click OK to enable Telnet.
5. Check the Connection:
   1. If you get a blank cursor in the command prompt, the connection is successful.
   2. Close the command prompt window.
6. Authenticate Telnet Functionality:
   Ensure you can successfully use Telnet.
7. Troubleshoot Errors:
   If you encounter errors or are unable to Telnet successfully, connect with your network administrator for assistance.
