If you ever find yourself needing to configure Windows Firewall settings in order to open or close ports, here is a step-by-step guide for opening ports in Windows Firewall<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1<\/strong>: Select ‘Windows Firewall with Advanced Security from the Start menu on your Windows PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Look ‘Advanced Settings’ on the left side<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Click on ‘Inbound rules<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Now, on the right-hand side window, click on ‘New Rule<\/strong>‘ under Actions. A new wizard called ‘New Inbound Rule<\/strong>‘ will open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> ‘What kind of rule do you wish to create?’ <\/strong>it will ask. Select ‘Port’ <\/strong>and then press the ‘Next’ <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6:<\/strong> To create the rule, you need to select either TCP or UDP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Make sure the option for “Specific local port<\/strong>s” selected, then input the port range. Fill in the port numbers you’d want to open. Comma-separated port numbers may also used to open multiple ports. This is also feasible if you wish to add a port range. Between the start and finish ranges, put a dash. For instance, 0123-0456.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you’re finished, click the “Next”<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 7:<\/strong> Choose ‘Allow the connection’ <\/strong>in the following box and click the “Next”<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 8:<\/strong> Choose your network type whichever is suitable and click “Next”.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 9:<\/strong> Type in the name and description and then click “Finish”.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A port on the firewall has now opened. If you wish to block the ports, follow the same procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
