In this article, we have explained how to store backups on a remote server via FTP. If anything happens to the computer, this would help prevent backups from being lost.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What is a Remote Destination?<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A Remote Destination is a secure, off-site location where you can keep backup files for your website. A Remote Destination is usually cloud-based, which means that the files are stored on a network of remote servers for data redundancy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To continue, follow the Procedure. <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    \r\n
  1. Log into WHM as a root user.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Type “Backup” in the sidebar search box and then click on the Backup Configuration\u00a0sidebar menu option:

  3. In the main part of the WHM window, the Backup Configuration options will appear. Since we want to set up more backups, go to the top of the screen and select the Additional Destinations tab
    \"\"<\/li>\r\n
  4. \r\n
    Select FTP from Destination type
    \"\"<\/figure>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  5. Click the button \u201cCreate New Destination\u201d
    \"\"<\/li>\r\n
  6. Then, as seen in the screenshots below, a new window will appear, prompting you to enter the remote server’s credentials.

  7. Click the button “Save and Validate Destination” once you’ve entered all of the necessary information.<\/li>\r\n
  8. After the validation has completed successfully, press “Save Configuration.”
    \"\"<\/li>\r\n
  9. \r\n
    By manually running the backup, you can now verify if the transferring is working.
    Run the below command to run the backup manually

    \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/bin\/backup\u00a0 \u2013force

    You’ll get a new log file from there, which you can use to verify the backup and transfer process.<\/figure>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
