You might sometimes need to block a specific IP address from accessing your server for several reasons. Follow the simple instructions below which include creating an IPSec Security Policy specifying to block access to specific IP address \u2013<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    \r\n
  1. Hover your mouse to the Start Menu and click on Run.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Type \u201csecpol.msc\u201d in the run window and click OK.<\/li>\r\n
  3. The Local Security Settings window will open. Click on \u201cIP Security Policies on Local Computer\u201d.<\/li>\r\n
  4. Go to the right window pane, right-click, and select \u201cCreate IP Security Policy\u201d<\/li>\r\n
  5. Click Next when the Wizard opens.<\/li>\r\n
  6. The IPSec Security Policy window will open where you can name your new IPSec Security Policy. For example, it is named \u201cBlocked IPs\u201d here. After naming it, type a description and click Next.<\/li>\r\n
  7. Leave the Activate the default response rule checked and then click Next.<\/li>\r\n
  8. Again leave the Active Directory default (Kerberos V5 protocol) checked and click Next.<\/li>\r\n
  9. A warning window will open but don\u2019t worry simply click Yes.<\/li>\r\n
  10. Keep the Edit Properties box checked and click on Finish.<\/li>\r\n
  11. Uncheck the \u201cUse Add Wizard\u201d checkbox and then click on \u201cAdd\u201d.<\/li>\r\n
  12. Again click the Add button.<\/li>\r\n
  13. Uncheck the \u201cUse Add Wizard\u201d checkbox and click Add.<\/li>\r\n
  14. For \u201cSource Address\u201d, click the dropdown menu and choose \u201cA specific IP Address\u201d.<\/li>\r\n
  15. This is where you will enter what IP address you want to block. In this example, the IP address \u201c129.12.74.220\u201d is to be blocked.<\/li>\r\n
  16. Click the dropdown menu for \u201cDestination address\u201d select \u201cMy IP Address\u201d and click OK.<\/li>\r\n
  17. Click OK.<\/li>\r\n
  18. Select the newly created Filter and click on the Filter Action tab.<\/li>\r\n
  19. Select the SI Deny rule and click Apply.<\/li>\r\n
  20. Click OK, then Apply and OK again which will take you back to the main console window.<\/li>\r\n
  21. If everything gets done successfully, it will indicate that the policy is assigned. Your server will now block all requests to that specific IP address.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
