You can use Redirects to make a webpage display another page to the viewer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What is a Redirect?<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Using the Redirect feature you can redirect a specific web page to another web page. The redirected web page would take the user to the intended web page and display the content on that page. This also useful for making a web page<\/span> with a long URL accessible by redirecting it to a shorter URL that easily remembered by visitors.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With the help of this tutorial, you can also set redirects for desired web pages to redirect the visitor to the web page of your choice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Follow these simple steps to set redirects on your website:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. Login to your cPanel<\/b> account.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Scroll down to the \u2018Domains\u2019 section and click on the Redirects<\/b> icon.

  3. Choose the domain and directory you wish to redirect and enter the desired web page. Which you want to redirect it to.<\/li>\r\n

    Types of Redirects<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Permanent Redirect (301)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    A Permanent redirect would be used when you want to redirect the page to another web page permanently. Using a Permanent redirect would also inform the visitor\u2019s browser to update the URL if it bookmarked.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Temporary Redirect (302)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Temporary redirects used for redirecting a web page for time being and you want the search engines to give preference to both pages. And a Temporary redirect would also not update any bookmarks of the visitors.

    Select the kind of redirect you want e.g. Permanent 301 or Temporary 302. The difference between the two given below.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  5. Then you can choose the type of WWW redirection you want and if you want a Wildcard redirect then check the box as well.

    Note: <\/b>Wild Card Redirect will redirect all files within a directory to<\/span> the same filename<\/span> in the redirected directory.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    You cannot use a Wild Card Redirect to redirect your main domain to a different directory on your site.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  6. Now, just click on the ADD button and you see the confirmation that the web page is redirected to the mentioned web page.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
