Open a terminal – Applications>Accessories>Terminal<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To become root – type su>uname-r>The output will show kernel version<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Installation of packages – Applications>add\/remove<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Type in the root password<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In Package manager>go to browser tab>Select Development > Development Libraries and Development<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

> Development Tools<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Search tab>and search for xinetd and select the package for installation<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For the installation, install the kernel-devel package<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Click on Apply<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Proceed with the installation<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To download VMware, you can log on to the website and download<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Accept the agreement and download the .tar.gz file<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In order to receive a VM registration no., you will need to log in and register with personal details<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To install VMware > Applications>Accessories>Terminal<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Type su for root<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
