To upload files for an add-on domain, you need to place them in the correct web root (document root) folder of that domain. Each add-on domain has its own separate directory, so uploading files to the main domain\u2019s folder will not make them appear on the add-on domain.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Find the web root of the add-on domain<\/strong><\/h5>\n
    \n
  1. Log in to your cPanel.<\/li>\n
  2. Go to the Addon Domains section.<\/li>\n
  3. Next to the add-on domain name, you will see its Document Root (web root) path.<\/li>\n
  4. Example: public_html\/addon-domain-name.com or public_html\/addon<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Make a note of this path.<\/p>\n

    Step 2: Upload the files<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    You can upload files in two common ways:<\/p>\n

    Option A \u2013 Using cPanel File Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Open File Manager in cPanel.<\/li>\n
    2. Navigate to the document root folder of the add-on domain (the path you noted earlier).<\/li>\n
    3. Click Upload and select the files from your computer.<\/li>\n
    4. Wait until the upload is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Option B \u2013 Using FTP<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Connect to your hosting account with an FTP<\/a> client (such as FileZilla).<\/li>\n
      2. Go to the same document root folder of the add-on domain.<\/li>\n
      3. Upload your files into that folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Important tip<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Always double-check that you are inside the correct folder before uploading. Files placed in the wrong directory will not show on the add-on domain\u2019s<\/a> website. Once the files are uploaded to the correct web root, they should be accessible through the add-on domain.<\/p>\n
