This guide explains monitoring system resource usage using atop over a specified time. Atop command is a tool for monitoring system resources in Linux.   8. For Debian\/Ubuntu-based distributions-
    \n# sed -i ‘s\/600\/60\/’ \/etc\/default\/atop<\/li>\n
  9. Start atop service-
    \n# service atop restart<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: In Debian\/Ubuntu-based distributions, atop generates a cron task by default, ensuring automatic initiation of logging at midnight if it is not already running.<\/p>\n

    Usage-<\/p>\n

    1. Show the produced atop log files-
      \n# ls -l \/var\/log\/atop\/<\/li>\n
    2. To check the collected data, execute-
      \n# atop -r \/var\/log\/atop\/atop_*****
      \nwhere atop_***** is a file name from step 1.<\/li>\n
    3. Use hotkeys to transit between intervals-\n
        \n
      1. t – move forward<\/li>\n
      2. Shift + t – move backwards<\/li>\n
      3. r – reset all counters<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      4. To deactivate atop, execute-
        \n# service atop the stopFor Debian\/Ubuntu-based distributions, remove the atop cron task-
        \n# rm -f \/etc\/cron.d\/atop<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
