In this article, we\u2019ll guide you through the process of installing the ClamAV plugin in cPanel. ClamAV, a popular open-source antivirus scanner, empowers cPanel users to perform email scans and assess their home directories for potentially harmful files using this plugin.<\/p>\n

Note: To install the ClamAV, you need to have root access to your VPS (Virtual Private Server) or dedicated server, or else, you can contact your support team for help in installing the ClamAV antivirus plugin.<\/p>\n

Follow these steps to install ClamAV<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log into \u201cWHM\u201d\u00a0as the root account.
    \n\"whm-login\"<\/li>\n
  2. Search the\u00a0\u201cManage Plugins\u201d\u00a0tool from the\u00a0\u201ccPanel\u201d\u00a0search bar.

  3. Click on the\u00a0\u201cInstall ClamAV for cPanel\u201d.

    \nNote: The installation process may take time, possibly extending beyond 10 minutes. We kindly ask for your patience and request that you avoid closing the web browser until the installation is successfully completed. Once finished, you will see a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen, indicating the successful installation of\u00a0\u201cClamAV for cPanel.\u201d<\/li>\n
  4. Now, log out from the\u00a0\u201cWHM\u201d, and log in again.<\/li>\n
  5. Type\u00a0\u201cClamAV\u201d\u00a0from the search tool.

  6. Now, you have the option to configure global scan permissions according to your preferences. If you want to grant all cPanel users the ability to scan their content, simply check the boxes next to \u201cScan Entire Home Directory,\u201d \u201cScan Mail,\u201d \u201cScan Public FTP Space,\u201d and \u201cScan Public Web Space,\u201d and then click \u201cSave.\u201d
