  • What is SSL

    Why do we need SSL for our website and what if we don’t take SSL? I have seen many websites that don’t have SSL and they are secure. So should I purchase or not?

    SSL Certificates are short data files that securely connect a cryptographic key to the information of an organization. It enables the padlock and the HTTPS protocol (over port 443) when installed on a web server, allowing secure connections from a web server to a browser. SSL is typically used to prevent credit card transactions, data transfers, and logins, and is rapidly being used to secure social media site browsing.

    SSL is used:
    • To secure online credit card transactions;
    • To secure system logins and any sensitive information exchanged online;
    • To secure webmail and applications like Outlook Web Access, Exchange, and Office Communications Server;
    • To secure workflow and virtualization applications like Citrix Delivery Platforms or cloud-based computing platforms;
    • To secure the connection between an email client such as Microsoft Outlook and an email server such as Microsoft Exchange;
