{"id":243,"date":"2011-09-16T05:42:40","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T10:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bodhost.com\/blog\/?p=243"},"modified":"2026-02-26T13:59:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T13:59:07","slug":"way-to-install-and-configure-configserver-firewall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bodhost.com\/blog\/way-to-install-and-configure-configserver-firewall\/","title":{"rendered":"Way To Install And Configure Configserver Firewall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You can install config-server firewall on a Linux server with the following steps :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Run the following command :<br \/>\nrm -fv csf.tgz<br \/>\nwget http:\/\/www.configserver.com\/free\/csf.tgz<br \/>\ntar -xzf csf.tgz<br \/>\ncd csf<br \/>\nsh install.sh<\/li>\n<li>If you would like to disable APF+BFD (If you have them installed then you will require it else they will conflict horribly):<br \/>\nsh disable_apf_bfd.sh<\/li>\n<li>Now, you have to configure csf and lfd in WHM, or edit the files<br \/>\ndirectly in \/etc\/csf\/*<\/li>\n<li>CSF provides a pre-configured setup for the cpanel servers, it automatically configures all the relevent ports in csf which are used for the proper working of cpanel.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to add some additional ports or want to change the CSf setting, it can be done from file \/etc\/csf\/csf.conf in server or from WHM &gt;&gt; Plugins &gt;&gt; ConfigServer Firewall &gt;&gt; Firewall configuration.<\/li>\n<li>If you are using CSF in VPS, Please make sure to enable klogd and check \/etc\/init.d\/syslog .<\/li>\n<li>CSF is previously configured to work on a cPanel server with all the regular cPanel ports open.
