Hello Sebastian,

Here is what you can do,

> Start Otulook Express
> On the option Menu > Tools > Options
> In the dialog box > click on Maintenance
> Click on Store Folder
> Create a backup folder and save

When ever you need to restore, you will need to access the backup folder. If you require more information, please let us know and we will be glad to help you out further and we look forward for you to stay in this forum for a very long time.

Regards

There is a not bad application for restore data - outlook mail recovery, know how recover data from Microsoft Outlook pst files, program can be also used to recover information from Microsoft Exchange ost files and/or convert them into Microsoft Outlook pst files, recover Outlook files and data from corrupted pst files of all Microsoft Outlook mail clients, from Microsoft Outlook 97 to Microsoft Outlook 2003. To save the recovered information as files with the *.pst extension, you should have the Microsoft Outlook 98 mail client or higher installed on your computer.

If you are moving to other pc or doing a new installation, the (...) numbers are be different and you may have to manually move the entries to the differently numbered entries that are actually being used.

This is the method that you can use :

1) First export the Registry branch on the old PC to a *.reg file.

2) Now transfer this "reg" file on other PC

3) On other computer search for the (still empty) settings of your new Outlook Express installation. Once you find, you have the new (...) number!

4)Open the transfered*.reg file with a text editor and make a "Search and Replace":

Replace the old (....) value with the NEW (...) which you just located in the Registry.

5. Save this file and then click on it. This will import your old settings in the NEW registry.

While restoring backups, make sure all folders are processed. Outlook express doesn't store all messaged in a single file of dbx format and mailbox is in different dbx files. Make sure you perform Read Source File for all files with dbx extensions.
