Please recommend me the best cisco firewall which can protect our internal network from internet which can filter intruder detection and malicious codes.

Cisco Firewall technologies are one of the best known for their securities, you can have a look at the following models, these are the best suggestives -

a) Adaptive Security Appliance (next generation models)
i) Cisco ASA 5520
ii) Cisco ASA 5540

In order to enhance security, you could also add in Content Security and Control module.

How large is the network you are protecting and also do you require VPN capability?

The 5520 might be sufficient in your case Marcus. But you need to add the Content Security and Control module (CSC-SSM).

We have a very large network of security maintained one our vps nodes. Our VPS support VPN, however, in this regards we always suggest our customers to opt for a Dedicated Server for Dedicated performance.
