There are many others big benefits increase by migrating from Windows to an Ubuntu Linux OS, such as:

a. Update per single piece of software on your system with one click.
b. Update almost everything on your computer without a reboot.
c. Keep your system secure without software that consumes your system resources, need your time, and frequently nags you.
d. Run whole OS for free without pirating software, and without breaking the rules.
e. Take your settings with you where ever you go.

I agree with you, there are some another points also :
1. Understand everything that is going on your computer.
2. Customize all aspect of your desktop.
3. Run thousands of great pieces of software that only run on Linux.
4. Learn about, support, and appreciate the value of free software.

The above mentioned benefits must have definitely made you biased towards a Ubuntu based server. You can choose a Linux Ubuntu server as it offers many benefits, however, you should make sure that most of the applications developed by Microsoft are not supported on Ubuntu and hence you should be sure of your requirements before you proceed and choose an Ubuntu server.

Linux is a fast pain relief solution, but if you don't know anything about it, then it will be painful for you.
