I was wondering what the advantage of RAID is since it is only offered under one package and it's not even the most expensive package?

RAID is a short form of Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks or Redundant Array of Independent Disks which is basically used to increase the redundancy and for better performance. There are different types of RAID configuration but the most renowned are RAID 1 and RAID 5.
