Default Microsoft Exchange Server

Heya, guys! I'd like to know, does BODhost have Microsoft Exchange servers? I don't see anything like that in the product page, so maybe not. I guess we'll have to buy our licenses from Microsoft if we want MS Exchange, eh? But if we do, do you even allow MS Exchange servers here?

Thanks!

Yep, BODhost does offer Microsoft Exchange servers. At least, that's what I could find in their knowledgebase. If you're looking to get an Exchange server or simply want to know more about the details of getting one, your best bet is probably to contact BODhost sales.

Yea, having that option is useful.

Hello

Everybody likes to keep their systems running smoothly and tuned for performance. For simpler scenarios with basic configuration you can probably use Exchange 2003 out-of-the box without ever having performance issues. But if you are responsible for a complex environment, then you have probably already felt the bitter taste of a system bottleneck. If you identify yourself with this description or if you are just a tweak fanatic, then this article is for you.
Remember performance optimizer from Exchange 5.5 days? At the end of every Exchange installation you were prompted to run the optimizer that would configure some settings, based on the hardware, workload and specific use, contributing to the overall stability and performance of the server.

The 15 minutes of fame of this fine tool ended with the release of Exchange 2000, since that version was supposed to be self-tuning. But soon people discovered that there was still room for improvements, because tuning is such a complex process, so it was only natural that tech gurus and Microsoft itself started doing some recommendations.

When Exchange 2003 saw the daylight, some old Exchange 2000 recommendations turned obsolete, but new ones replaced them and some were adapted to cope with the then new Windows Server 2003.There are some obvious things that you can do to improve performance, such as buying new processors , adding more memory, and migrating to a faster storage system.

The following recommendations apply to Exchange Server 2003 installed on Windows Server 2003, because probably that’s the most common scenario nowadays. And Exchange Server 2003 combined with Windows Server 2003 make a perfect couple. When I started writing these lines, I even thought to recommend the use of Windows 2003 as my first tip, because it adds some enhancements and functionality to an Exchange 2003 infrastructure

What are the core benefits of microsoft exchange server? One more thing confusing me is that, what is the difference between local exchange server and hosted exchange server?

Microsoft Exchange Server actually provides you with the Email features you will never get with a hosting package or server. It enables you to get and provide Email functionality to your organization. As Emails are being very important for the organizations, it also includes features which ensures security from hackers, vulnerable attacks, viruses etc.

The difference between local Exchange server and hosted Exchange server is somewhat the same as self hosting i.e. hosting websites on local server and hosting websites on a server with a professional hosting provider.

If you have a hosted Exchange server with a reliable hosting provider, he will take care of the network, maintenance, security etc. and the overall cost will be less than the local Exchange server. Whereas, if you consider a local Exchange server, the solution will not be reliable enough and the overall cost of the Exchange server will be much more

Just a quick question that popped into my head, but do you offer any custom plans that might be needed for those with small businesses? I notice sometimes hosting places only have large bulk rates.

We aren't doing any custom plans for now. Could you list your requirements though ?
