Default ASP forums

Lately, my friend sent me on a quest to find forums that use ASP and not PHP (I don't know why he would do this...) I was only able to find one which was called YYAB. The problem is that it requires a MSSQL database and he is only allowed one. I was wondering if anyone knows a free ASP forum that uses MySQL.

I believe that Snitz Forums 2000 supports MySQL.

I suggest you give that a try, however to be honest, it doesn't look too robust but I have used several forums that ran that software and they seemed to work well. Just don't expect any flashy features (I could be wrong though as I'm not too familiar with ASP scripts).

Hi! These are free forums that I found which uses ASP. They have their own advantage and disadvantage, but other forums that uses MySQL are not free.

Discuss .NET
DMG Forums
Free Forum In ASP.net
Harrison Logic Forum
SpeedBBS Forum
Silvernode Chimaera

I have to admit that Snitz Forums is a good choice that supports MySQL database. From the above listed, DMG forums is the open source ASP.NET forum/portal application for both MSSQL and MySQL.

I haven't ever heard of any of these forums. What is the difference in PHP and ASP forums? I am now scratching my head wondering how I don't know the difference?

PHP and ASP are two different languages. I may be wrong in saying this but I think ASP is made by Microsoft. I think its just a preference issue. However, I've heard that ASP hasn't reached the level of efficiency and usefulness that PHP is able to do.

Hello Everyone
1. Set EV to -0.3 to get better detail and colours due to over-exposure under default factory setting

2. For sharpest images, set image size to 6.7M (16:9). This uses 5 bits-per-pixel in its encoding, while most of the others use only 4 bits. This can make a difference in picture quality.

3. Set NR to -1 for sharper images due to Sony's aggresive noise algorithms. Then cleanup using some noise reduction software like Neat-Image

4. Half depress shutter all the time to lock the focus before you fully press the trigger

5. Use "anti-motion blur" mode for night shots instead of "hand held twilight". Better results

6. Turn DRO to off unless you really want to use it. reduces geometric distortion when using full telephoto. I think it increases sharpness also (?)

7. Turn on Smart Zoom when you use the 5-MP mode, as this reduces the number of encoding processes from two to one. You also get an original encoding of 5 bits-per-pixel and without Smart Zoom, the first process uses just 4 bits.

8. Use the 720p mode for HD video, as I found that it looks sharper than the 1080p video.

Wow thank you so much for this list. I have been looking for an ASP forum, one I was willing to pay for, but free is so much better!
