Start MS-DOS Setup in Windows Server 2003 :
Create Startup disk on windows server 2003. In order to do this, you can do the following :
- Click Start > Point to Settings > Click on Control Panel > Double-click Add/remove Programs
- Click Startup Disk > Click Create Disk
- Insert a disk and click on Ok
First, we need to check the hardware can work with windows server 2003. We will need to download or install latest drivers, if required. System requirements for windows server 2003 can be viewed on Microsoft website. Make sure you read the following on the CD :
Drive:\Docs\Read1st.txt
Drive:\Docs\RelNotes.htm
Create Partition on hard disk and format with FAT32 file system
Following is how to start Windows Server 2003 Setup from MS-DOS :
- Insert Windows Server 2003 CD
- Start MS-DOS with CD-ROM
- Start SMARTDRIVE
- In cmd, type drive; and enter
- Type cd\i386
- Type winnt
- Type path for the installation files
- All files are copied to HDD
- It will restart and windows server 2003 setup starts again
- Format Partition to install Windows Server 2003
- Complete Setup as per instructions
