WSS 3.0, Active Directory Domain Controller, DNS Server

Does anybody have any experience adding these services onto a Starter VPS?

So far I've managed to find that adding the DNS server fails due to missing media. Do you think I would need to raise a helpdesk ticket to get a copy of the ISO mounted on my machine?

Active Directory fails to install because "The workstation driver is not installed". The few relevant results I could find on google said that the workstation driver is also known as "Client for Microsoft Networks" in the properties for the network connection. That's turned on and set to use Windows Locater Service. I'm drawing a complete blank on this one.

As for getting WSS on there, that should be an easy file-upload and install once I'm happy with my domain setup. Shouldn't it?

WSS - Windows Sharepoint Services : Yes, it'd be possible to install WSS on a Windows VPS. There's an application template readily available for this, VPS support can apply this template easily on your VPS upon request.

Active Directory Domain Controller : This can be installed easily on a VPS, but would take some good amount of time
I don't think any special drivers are needed to be installed or enabled for this purpose.

DNS Server : This too can be installed & configured within MAX 10 mins..

Finally, I'd advise to get the plan upgraded if you want to run all these services on a starter one, as they may overload the VPS & slowdown things a bit...

Thanks for the help Rocky. It does look like I'm going to have to go bug the admin staff on this one.

Using the starter site should be fine though. I'm only planning on 3-4 people accessing the sharepoint stuff at once. At the very least I'm going to find out how good my monitoring technique is.
