Reboot, Re-Start etc...
Hi All -
New Bodhost dedicated Windows customer.
Maybe this should have been one for the pre-sale forum, but anyways...
1. My understanding is that there is no control panel available to us to reboot or restart our servers ourselves. What is required, a ticket, Live Chat, is there a special queue for re-booting?
2. We will initially use our server for application development. Once the server has been fully set up and is online, is there an option to restore to original configuration? In other words, if things go south with a project and the easiest solution is to simply start from scratch, is that an option?
Thanks in advance,
MyLama

Hello MyLama,
I think you have Ordered a Dedicated server without control panel. However you can reboot or restart your server without any control panel by using RDP.
Steps to Reboot or Restart the Windows Dedicated server are as follows:-
1) Remote Desktop to your server.
2) From the Start menu, select Shut Down.
3) From the What do you want the computer to do? drop down menu, select the action you want the take.
4) Under Option, select the reason you are rebooting your server.
5) In the Comments field, enter your comments regarding the reason for your reboot. This step is required.
6) Now click OK.

Hi -
Thanks all.
I do have Plesk, but for a dedicated server it doesn't provide server management (unless you have provisioned the server as a single VPS, some hosts offer that).
Cheers,
MyLama

Hello MyLama,
We are glad that you have posted in our forum. With a Windows Dedicated Server, you can always reboot through Remote Desktop. However, we do not provide Switch Reboot Access to the dedicated server.
We provide 24x7 Customer Support, anytime you need a reboot to be done on the server, simply contact us and we will definitely reboot the dedicated server for you.
Also, if you have any other perspective in respect with Server management, please let us know.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Best Regards,
Shane Melson
