Default Maximize data throughput for network applications network connection

For optimizing the speed of data you will just need to select the option of "Maximize data throughput for network applications network connection" after selecting this option OS gives priority to applications that perform buffered I/O operations by caching their I/O pages in file system cache.

This option can limit memory available to MSSQL Server for normal operation.
To check the current setting on your OS

1)First click Start, then click Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, and then double-click Local Area Connection.

2) On the General tab, click Properties, select File and Printer Sharing Microsoft Networks, and then click Properties.

3)If Maximize data throughput for network applications is selected, choose any other option, click OK, and then close the rest of the dialog boxes.

As default, Windows Server 2003 give preference to file system that cache over the working sets of processes while allocating memories. IIS servers have a lrge file system cache that give file system cache preference which leads to IIS 6.0 pageable code that can be written to disk results in process delays.

In order to avoid these delays, server properties should be set to maximize data throughput for network applications.
