Default What is virtulization

With virtulization technique, partitions are created in one physical server to create several virtual servers. Each of these virtual servers can function as a standalone server and can be individually rebooted. Virtualization products like Hyper V from Microsoft have radically improved the output and performance of windows virtual hosting environments

Virtualization is used for dividing the single physical servers into several virtual servers, where resources can be allocated in a way that does not directly reflect the underlying hardware.

FYI, there are various types of platform available for virtualization such as VMware, Virtuozzo, Hyper-V, Applogic, and newly innovated Openstack … Each platform requires different kind of hardware requirements.

Visualization is basically a technique of distributing the resources of a single server or multiple servers and creating servers which have their own existence and act as standalone servers. A Visualization application performs the task of distributing the resources of servers.

Virtualization applications are of two types. One is a software virtualization application and the other is a hardware virtualization application. In a software virtualization application, the CPU resources of the server are shared but when it comes to a hardware virtualization application, the CPU resources are also distributed to each virtual server.
