Types of Web Hosting

Web hosting is the facility where more than one website resides. It is a facility for all the Internet users as they upload their websites on the web host server and it is shared between them. When any Internet user opens a website in a browser, there is an IP address to it which is tracked and then the website is loaded from the web host. It allows us to store information on the Internet. A web host can run web hosting software such as Apache, OS X Server not only by one computer but by several thousand computers.

There are many kinds of web hosting:

1.Free Hosting
2.Shared (Virtual) Hosting
3.Dedicated Hosting
4.Collocated Hosting

I guess you should have classified Shared and Virtual hosting in different points as Shared hosting plans are created on Dedicated servers without any application, whereas, Virtual Servers are created on Dedicated servers using software or hardware virtualization application.

Need to be included here...However, while choosing web hosting solution you should have to clear hosting requirements of your site.

The other solutions are offered by all the well known hosting providers except for Co-location hosting. This type of hosting involves the hardware of the customer and the hosting provider only offers rack space, power and electricity with support (though, not necessary). However, this type of hosting actually proves to be expensive as the customer has to spend a good amount of money for the hardware initially.
