Virtual Machine and Hardware Configuration?

I've got this information on the Internet; “After the virtual machine is set up you can click what in the console to change the hardware configuration of a machine”, is it true?

I am not sure where did you read this but I am sure this is not true. By what is written, I assume that it means one can click on the control panel or the system of the hardware node and change the hardware configuration of it which is not possible. The reason for this is the fact that hardware of the server is it's physical state i.e. it's configuration and it cannot be changed by a single click on the control panel.
