There are many advantages of linux vps hosting. Those are as follows :
a. Linux is a free os.
b. It is very easy to use.
c. It has a reliable security system.
d. It is cheaper than another OS.
e. You can easily convert Linux into a Windows site. So you don’t require to worry that once you install Linux application on your windows server it won’t run. It is possible to convert a Linux server into a Windows server. But if you wish to do it the other way round, its not so easy- a Windows site conversion into a Linux site is a complicated process.

There is mainly one disadvantage of linux vps hosting. Linux hosting doesn't permit windows applications and the coding conversions. So it would be a vary big issue for those websites which are designed for windows based applications.
