VPS stands for Virtual Private Servers. The meaning of VPS is dividing a single physical server into numerous virtual servers. And in case of Colocation, it is one kind of web hosting where the customer's server equipment is hosted in the web hosting provider's data center. Fire1

Virtual private servers can offer the benefits of both shared and Dedicated hosting. It offer root-access to every user without requiring them to host their sites on physically dedicated servers. This hosting service is basically utilized by such businesses or others who require a customized solution.

colocation servers only offer the Internet connection and environment. The user does its own system admin. This is vary costly compare to other different hosting services. It is very robust. Many big companies are using this facility for a safe environment. Some use it to avoid disastrous situations.

Virtual Private Server: This process offer multiple isolated server environments on a single physical server. It utilize its own disk space, RAM, CPU, IP addresses and it can be rebooted freely. Every VPS work and executes like a stand-alone server. In nearly every perspective you can find a VPS as if it’s a dedicated server.

Co-location: The behavior of Co-location are almost the same as dedicated hosting except that you offer your own server and the web hosting provider only assist you to plug it into their datacentre. You require to install your own software and hardware.

VPS : If your requirements are like a dedicated hosting and You don't want to give more money then you can choose VPS hosting.

Colocation : If you have your own server but you want- Internet connection and environment to keep your server, then you can choose colocation.

A VPS is a virtual private server, it behaves like a dedicated server but is really just one of a few on a real server.

Collocated hosting lets you place your own web server on the premises (locations) of a service provider.

This is pretty much the same as running your own server in your own office, only that it is located at a place better designed for it.

Most likely an ISP will have dedicated resources like high-security against fire and vandalism, regulated backup power, dedicated Internet connections and more.

If you already have a Server hardware than you can look forward to Co-location services, however, you shouldn't purchase the hardware and look for Co-location services as you will have to invest a lot of money for the hardware and it's difficult to find a good service provider for Co-location services. Instead, you can choose a VPS hosting package or a Dedicated server with a reliable hosting provider which is indeed a better option.
