VPS hosting is the best option for clients who are looking for similar features of a dedicated server with less resources. VPS's are also offered to one single client which means that the resources are dedicated to his websites and applications only which makes VPS's a better option in comparison to a shared hosting plan. Also, Root administrator access provided with the VPS is an added advantage

Many people who do not need Dedicated Server, but try to experience it, usually opt for VPS Servers. Well, when it comes for Video Streaming, do you think that site will get good performance on VPS? IMO, it won't!!!!

Yes Martin,

Video streaming will require hosting package better than VPS which is Dedicated server hosting. however VPS is best for the people having moderate requirements which cannot be provided by the shared hosting and Dedicated Servers are too big for them.

Yes shane and chris are absolutely right video requires high bandwidth,disk space and other resources so its better to opt for dedicated server if you want to go for site with live video streaming like youtube and metacafe .

Video Sites needs high bandwidth & disk space, So VPS can't give this much feature. So choosing a dedicated server with higher configuration is the good option.

Hey Phil ,

You are absolutely right VPS is the best Web hosting solution when it comes to both cost effectiveness and the features associated with it, it can give you a feel of a dedicated server hosting.

As the discussion above you will have to agree that the VPS has many limitations when the business tends to grow and some options such as Video can't be tried on VPS
