VPS Resources?

I know that VPS can have almost the same options as dedicated server, but what about the resources? Those are still shared like on a shared server, you just get a little bigger package, right?

VPS's are virtual private servers which are created on a dedicated server using a virtualization application. Hence, the resources offered with the VPS's will be dedicated to your websites and applications and the resources won't be shared with any other VPS user. Also, the resource usage of another VPS won't affect the performance of your VPS

Unlike shared hosting,limited number of VPS accounts good resources are created on a physical server.All the VPS's have entirely separate resource allocations hence you can experience a dedicated environment at much cheaper price.You can have separate control panel with every VPS account and can manage the VPS's separately just like a dedicated server.

As the VPS acts like a dedicated server, it is also possible for you to reboot and restart the VPS if required. Also, as root administrator access is provided with the VPS, it is possible for you to install the applications you need on the VPS

Hey carl are you sure that all the applications which can be installed on Dedicated Servers can be installed on VPS, also can the firewall also be customized according the personal needs

IMO similar to a dedicated server,one can install any application on a VPS as well as long as they do not overload the server. Talking about firewall,since you have root access to the VPS,you can customize the VPS Firewall. This may vary between web hosting providers. It would be better if someone from BODhost sheds some light on this.

If the configuration and specifications of the VPS meets the requirements of the application which is to be installed, the application can be installed on the VPS without any problem as you will get root administrator access to your VPS.

Yes, it is possible to customize the software firewall on the VPS as per your requirements
