Default Mirroring VPS Web Hosting?

Hi everyone. I am trying to comprehend all of this web hosting information that I have been given. I need some help sorting it all out.

What is the point of mirroring a VPS Web Server with yet another VPS Web Server? I am hoping I have this correctly but this one seems TOO simple after the others.

In having the mirrored VPS web server you have a 2nd copy of all your important information. This information may be used in an emergency so that I could instantly have my site back online?

Basically, servers i.e. VPS's as well as dedicated servers are mirrored so that if one of the server fails, the other server is available and thus the websites get 100% uptime guarantee. This also ensures data security as the data of your websites is very important.

If you consider a VPS mirroring solution and if one of the VPS's go down due to some reason, the second VPS will be online ensuring 100% uptime guarantee for your websites

So the 2nd VPS, it would pick up and take on the load almost instantly with no data for me to upload etc because it would all be there waiting and thus no down time. Is this very much more expensive than your typical VPS hosting? Does BodHost offer this?

If the master i.e. the first VPS fails due to some reason, the second i.e. the slave VPS will take it's place immediately. The data on the first VPS is synchronized on the second VPS from time to time and hence you won't have to upload any data on the second VPS if the first VPS goes down.

As VPS mirroring solution includes 2 VPS's of the same configuration, the cost is certainly high in comparison to VPS hosting, however, as we always try to offer the best deal to our customers, we have tried to keep the cost as low as possible for our customers

It sounds interesting. So the slave VPS serves as a back-up server for the first one. Do both VPS's are located in the same (physical) server? I ask it to anticipate the possibility of the physical server failure. In that case, both first and slave VPS's will not work.

The Slave VPS acts as a backup to the Master VPS. Both the VPS's are created on different dedicated servers which are located in different racks and hence if the Master VPS fails due to some reason, the Slave VPS will be online within a short time ensuring 100% uptime

How frequently does the Slave VPS synchronize with the Master VPS? I would think that there would be some chance of rollback, maybe, unless it syncs very frequently?

In the VPS mirroring solution, the data which is under the home directories of account is configured to synchronize after every 15 minutes while the configuration files are configured to synchronize after every 30 minutes

Please feel free to post if you have any further questions.

Also if you have a database all the mysql data is configured to synchronize after 5 minutes from master VPS to the slave VPS. Though the frequency of data synchronization can be customized according to the client requirements.

Actually this does depends on the time it takes to copy data from one server to another.

That is pretty much up to the minute information there! So that would be very easy to keep your site up and running without worrying about losing data. I can see where the added cost would be worth it.
