Default VPN Setup

Just wondering about the RDP/SSH Access provided on the VPS. Is it possible to setup VPN on any of the VPS plans?

Hello,

Thanks for posting in your question.

Yes, it's definitely possible to setup VPN on our vps hosting packages. Also, we have some new offers on our plans, i suggest you should check them out too.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Shane Phillips

Yes, BODhost offers RDP Administration and SSH Root access with Windows VPS and Linux VPS hosting packages respectively. It will also be possible to have VPN on our Windows and Linux VPS hosting packages. You can have a look at the Linux VPS hosting packages here. and you can view all the Windows VPS hosting packages here.

Well, I tried to search information about VPN & related offers and I got below statement in your knowledgebase.

Quote:
VPN -

Virtual Private Network. A network that is constructed by using public wires to connect nodes. The data sent across the Internet is encrypted, so the entire network is “virtually” private.
Can anyone explain me how does the VPN configuration work on VPS please?

Thank you!

Thumbs up Hello

Hello,

Not sure if you are looking for VPN on windows VPS or on Linux. For Linux VPSes we will help you to enable TUN/TAP Module and for Windows VPN module from the hardware node.

Then you will be able to install VPN client for example openVPN on your VPS and confiure it your own as per your requirement.

Hello Peter,

Yes, it is possible to setup VPN on Windows as well as Linux VPS. If you want to install VPN on Windows VPS then you will need to contact you hosting provider and request them to enable RRAS-Routing and Remote Access in Windows 2003. Once this service is enabled you can easily install VPN on your VPS.

So I can setup VPN on both Linux and Windows VPS. Will BodHost provide me support on the VPN I install?

Yes, you can setup VPN on both Linux and Windows VPS. I don't think Bodhost will provide support for VPN.

Usually all modules required for setting up VPN are installed on VPS thus you can setup VPS yourself. You would need TUN/TAP enabled on your VPS so as to configure VPN.

You can ask our VPS support team to enable TUN/TAP. You can leave a support ticket for the same. Feel free to contact us at any point of time ;)
