Hello Carl,

I don't think there should be any problem in hosting Joomla on the servers.

There should be no additional charges for getting Joomla installed on your web hosting account. You can contact any of the technicians and get your account modified as per your website's basic hosting requirements.

Joomla can easily be installed through cPanel - Fantastico. If you do not have Fantastico installed in your cPanel. Please contact our support department and they will install it for you.

I didn't even realize that Joomla could be installed through Fantastico. I'll have to play around with it for a new site I'm working on as I've heard great things about Joomla but have never tried it. Those of you who use it, do you think it's easier than other CMS or have better features?

Joomla is a great content management system. I have used it for many websites, it is nice to see that it can be installed so easily here, that sure makes for a quick setup.

Yes, that's true. It is one of the most known CMS's used world-wide and with the help of Fantastico, you have it installed on your server or hosting package without installing it manually on the server and is operational without any hassle.

Do you also offer services to help if someone wanted a custom joomla theme going? I have been thinking about messing around with it for a while now but I am still debating (like to keep my options open).

Good to hear. I have messed around with it a little in the past, but this was years ago. I think I need a refresher course but if I get stuck its nice to know there is someone able to help (rather than just tell me -rm and start over again).

Speaking of Joomla, I've often heard mixed opinions about it. Some praise it, while others hate it.

It looks like it really depends on the user but from what I remember, Joomla isn't too newbie friendly out of the box. That's not to say it's impossible to use but it's definitely not as friendly as Wordpress, however it makes sense that it's that way since Wordpress is meant for simpler functions whereas Joomla is aimed more at users who want to create more complex websites and therefore proper knowledge is required to operate it well.

Correct. The number of Fans of Joomla are increasing. However, I think developing Joomla will bring more success and popularity to it.

I think Joomla is fine and dandy but just like anything else you can not just expect to open up Fantastico and "know everything" there is to know. Some of the stuff for Joomla takes some serious work to get going the way people want it custom, but there are so many options sometimes its hard to keep up.

Indeed, Joomla is good and is freely available with Fantastico which is one of the features included in cPanel. Here are few features of Joomla:-

* Built-in Help files
* Built-in site search engine
* Build-in content syndication (RSS)
* Create, publish, and reorder and edit articles in a click
* Create your own publishing schedule
* Content display scheduling
* Completely database-driven site engines
* Email-a-friend and Print-format(pdf) for every story and article
* Easy to use graphical administrative interface
* Text editor similar to Word Pad
* News, products or services sections fully editable and manageable
* News feed manager: Choose from over 400 news feeds from around the world
* Trash Manager (A "Recycle Bin" for your web site)
* Media (images, documents) upload and management
* Search engine friendly (SEF) URL's
* WYSIWYG content editor support (built into the CMS)
* Simple polls
