Default Burstable RAM

Burstable RAM is the memory which is available beyond the guaranteed RAM assigned to your VPS. For Example your VPS have 256mb guaranteed RAM, and 1024mb burstable RAM. This means that after you have used up your guaranteed ram, there is still 768mb burstable RAM available for burst usage - IF there's enough free memory on the host server.

We always keep some extra memory available on each server as Burstable RAM.

It means that we could use all of the 1GB of burstable RAM whole time? Or would the hosting company lower the allowance after few minutes ?

The burstable RAM is available when you need that bit extra but as the node becomes busier you will find it harder to get the RAM so you can’t use it all the time.

Burstable RAM is the amount of RAM you will get from the unused RAM from the idle VPSs . But if all the VPSs use their assigned RAM allocations then you wont be able to get burstable RAM.

Burstable RAM is not always available on the node.

VPS slice will allow you a temporary 'burst' of extra RAM so that you can finish your process without disabling any programs. But you cannot count on having a sustained burst all the time because If other users will require those resources, you will be pared back to your guaranteed allocation.

How about the upgrading the hosting package. That you will have more RAM. If you actually need more RAM, then the best suggestive is to upgrade to a dedicated servers as that is a solution would meet up the requirements.

The basic concept here is why to hogg resources on the VPS when you can have a better configuration dedicated server. ;)

Yes I agree with Samantha instead of depending on burstable RAM we can upgrade to a higher package or a Dedicated server.

I agree that upgrading to a dedicated server will provide you more features or resources but at the same time it will affect your budget.

You must always remember burstable RAM is not guaranteed.

So better option is to get the amount of RAM you will require and do not *depend* on burstable RAM, or you will have a "bad" vps experience.

Negative,

It basically depends upon the allocation of the VPS resources. For the past two weeks, we have been monitoring our servers and our uptime has reached 99.98% which degraded to 99.9% on four of our VPS server nodes due to Network faults.

Our servers are configured and designed to meet your requirements.
