Increase the imap limit

I am trying to setup multiple imap connections from my offices, the problem is after doing 3 simultaneous connections from different machines, the Imap server will drop the connections.

How can I increase the imap limit for the dovecot?

You need to edit you dovecot configuration file and need to add or edit the following value.

I need to know increasing the IMAP limits has any implications ?

That is any Security risk ? or any Server load ?

I have heard that its resource intensive and cause load on server. is that right ?
