How do I create and addon domain?

I’m trying to create an addon (domain) pointer in cpanel? I’ve been wanting to do this, but I’m a bit nervous about giving it a try without asking for some type of assistance. Is there anyone here that is well enough versed in this area that could help guide me?

You would create and add-on domain to point another domain to a subfolder or sub domain of your main domain. The add-on can have it’s own email, but not have it’s own control panel. To have it’s own control panel you would need to create a separate account. To create an add-on domain follow these steps.

1. In your control panel click on the “addon domains” icon.
2. In the first box, enter the new domain name that you would like to point.
3. In the second box, enter the sub domain/directory in your account to which you would like to point the add-on.
4. Create a new password.
5. Click the create a domain.

Don’t for get to make the necessary DNS changes in your domain account to point to the name serves in your hosting account.

Wow fast reply, Thanx techgirl. I'm gonna go give it a try and see if it works. I'll let you know how it all turned out. I've asked this same question on many other forums and no one ever answered me before. I guess I'll stick around Bodhost since the members here seem to be so helpful. I just hope I can contribute some helpful information to the site as well. :cool:
