Default ISA server

Hello everyone,

Here I would like to discuss on Internet Security and Acceleration Server.

Prerequisites for ISA server.
1>Hands-on experience of ISA Server 2004/2006

2>Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003

3>Networking and firewall concepts

common mistakes with ISA server

1>Do NOT install any application that hooks on port 80 on the same box.

2 >If your internal network has a router further downstream, make sure
the routed IP ranges are added.

3> Make sure your ISA Server knows the route to your published server.

4> Make sure the server you are publishing knows the way to your ISA
Server.

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) was built to enable companies to customize and extend their security and management features for optimum security and network performance by using a wide range of third-party solutions.

ISA Server comes in 2 editions that Standard and Enterprise. Standard Edition is a stand-alone server which supports 3-4 processors and Enterprise Edition is for large-scale deployments, server array support.

Well, it seems that ISA server has many benefits which will allow companies to have brilliant security features and network but at the same time the drawbacks of ISA makes it really difficult for a person to take a decision in favor of it.
