send oversized emails in exchange
when a lot of users sends out emails with large attachments, it can quickly choke a connection of a server
well... I have found that Exchange 2003-08 has a feature where u can deliver all outgoing mails above a specific size after a specific time limit.
heres how you would go about doing it
first of course u gotta open the exchange system manager.
then go over to the Internet Mail tab and right-click then select Properties.
(wow this is hard)
alright Go to the Delivery Options tab then enable the Use different delivery times for oversize messages, and make sure that you fill in the value if you want it to be bigger/smaller than the defaut (which is 2000Kb).
ok now you get to have fun by selecting the schedule. as an example i set mine to after 18:00 in the afternoon, right through to 06:00 in the morning when e-mail traffic is at its lowest. because everyone is sleeping
oh also If you want to see the que status, you can can go over to the Queues folder in Exchange System Manager, then you will see that the emails which is on schedule, will show up as Scheduled in the State column.
:D have fun
