Default Tools for Search Engine Optimization

Below is a simple guide to getting your site ready for search engines and to gain higher rankings than your competitors.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one for the most important factors of getting your website established online and to rank high on search engines.

One definition of SEO is:
Quote:
The term used to describe the marketing technique of preparing a website to enhance its chances of being ranked in the top results of a search engine once a relevant search is undertaken. A number of factors are important when optimising a website, including the content and structure of the website's copy and page layout, the HTML meta-tags and the submission process.
Step 1:The first method is to create a SEO optimized page/s which includes creating meta tags great resources to help you with this are listed below:

Using Meta To Improve Search Rankings - http://webdesign.about.com/cs/metatags/a/aa083099.htm

Meta Tag Generator - http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/meta-tag-generator/

Step 2:Once you have completed the above steps you now need to actually get your website submitted to search engines this is relevantly easy to do however it does take around 4 weeks to actually achieve results on search engines this is still not a guarantee your site will be listed

We recommend the below site to easily and quickly submit your website:

Step 3: To build high rankings you need to create solid partnerships with sites that are relevant to yours by exchanging links.

Link exchanges exmplained - http://www.associateprograms.com/reciprocal-links.shtml

The above are the basis to gain a higher page rank on google. Pagerank is Google’s patented method for measuring page importance on a scale from 0 - 10, where 10 is the highest. The PageRank algorithm analyzes the quality and quantity of links that point to a page although it is much more complex method of ranking than simply having just back links.

Please post your comments

Kind Regards

Robert

Default Sitemaps

Google sitemaps are also a must.
They basically inform google of all your pages and hotwire the spidering process, you can even set how important each page is.
They're getting easier to make to:
For a static site you could do one in notepad, for a dynamic site there are scripts for generating them on the fly.
You can even use an RSS feed now.
Check it out: https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login

Useful advice, though I haven't had a lot of problems with regard to visibility on search engines. However my sites are fairly esoteric so if you search on the right words you'll usually get them on the first page of results if not the first item.

Obviously if you're selling widgets and there are a thousand other sites selling widgets then it's different story altogether.

The best advice is to exchange links with other well known sites and then the search engines' robots will find you within a matter of hours.

I was thinking more about robot.txt, which also play a nice part. Also sitemap concern, you will need to guide them out properly too in order for the search engines to read them carefully.
