While starting with SEO one of the most important factor, you must always remember is start with the correct keywords first, and properly understand your competition or else you will fail before you ever begin.

Indeed, content is king. However, if you have noticed, google has changed it's algorithm yet once again. They have based it on theme yet to be known by SEO's...hmmm...

Thank you so much for the informational links. SEO can be such a daunting task if you don't know what you're doing. One thing that I have always been told was to never pay for someone to do the SEO work.

Quality content, rss feed and ping, build back links steady and slowly and use as many social networks to build a buzz as you can, that should be about it.

Quality content surely contributes in increasing your website rankings in search engines. Social bookmarking, Directory submissions, blogging etc are other techniques to get back links for your websites which will definitely help you to get better rankings in search engines. Back links from websites which already have a good ranking in search engines will help you to get a better rank for your website.

That's probably also one of the most intuitive steps though, so if you are ok in that category, you should be OK

Yes, you can get a high page rank even if your website is freely hosted however, it is suggested to transfer your blog or website to paid hosting once the traffic is increased on it because free hosting is not secure.

Thanks, Aliya! That assures me.
I have a website in Bloggers but I can't get additional pages for my blogs, unlike in wordpress. Is there a way to get additional pages in Blogger?
