public_html or www?

I have two folders "public_html" & "www", which one should I use?

The public_html and www directories are two mirrors that have the same function. Render files placed on your FTP visible in the url of your site.

As per my knowledge www is a shortcut to public_html, it's not a separate folder, they point to the same location. It does not matter which one you use.

Most of the people prefer to put their data into the public_html directory.
