Server side is a method of managing web pages to include regularly used code or text into a web page. For an instance, you can create a text file that contains some regularly used common text, and then add it into multiple web pages using SSI instructions. I know this is an older way of do this and nowadays, most of the people usually opt JavaScript or Java Applets or managed web editing products like Front-Page or Dreamweaver, which offers to use templates. The best examples of client side objects are Java or Active X controls that are down loadable and can be used executed on a person's PC, as they are viewing a web page.
