Default Yes, I use Notepad!

Being the coding amateur (and hobbyist, not professional) that I am, I feel like I can get away with editing/writing full pages of PHP/HTML in Notepad. It might be a little basic, but if you know what you're doing, it's not all that difficult to pull everything together from scratch.

Does anyone else use Notepad to build/modify their websites? I feel like I might be alone on this one.

I don't but maybe that's because I am not fully into writing programs or designing websites. I have never really used notepad but have wondered what it could be used for on a few occasions.

I use notepad occationally. But I'm more serious now and I use Notepad++ or use other software to compare two different files. But, if you are doing basic stuff, there is nothing wrong with using notepad. Its very easy to use and very fast. Unless you really need other features, no point in switching.

I am not really a professional in using Notepad because I started learning in writing PHP codes and designing my website using Macromedia Dreamweaver. Quilceda I think you're not the only one using Notepad to create a website, a lot of people use it as an option if they find Dreamweaver too complex to use.

It is nice to know I have that option. I do have notepad already on my computer so that is one less thing I will have to worry with messing with!

I do appreciate the ease of use and simplicity of Notepad, Windac. I haven't really needed anything more than a program to write the code in, so I haven't bothered to pay for anything more advanced.

Notepad is really a simplest and easiest tool available to play with the basics of your website.

It was a long back when I used it to develop my HTML codes and the experience was really awesome. Now, I have Java scripts that I use. It is really difficult for the person like me (non professional programmer ;)) to manage and remove an error, if any. I agree that HTML itself is simple to understand and easy to create, however, Notepad had made it more simpler than it was before.

I don't learn PHP systematically. They way I learn is finding what function I need and then I find the script or learn how to write the script. I don't have enough time to learn all the tags, so I just account on Dreamweaver which provides most tag we need and even write somes for us.

I use notepad occasionally but I agree with everyone else that this is the easiest way in making HTML/PHP webpages. I normally use Dreamweaver to create websites and sometimes I can't figure out the errors. But with notepad, I could adjust the codes depending on the error.

I wish someday, there will be an AI which can make a program or a website for you just by telling it the things that you like.

I use Notepad almost exclusively for minor adjustments (particularly to PHP code), and sometimes even when I'm building websites from the ground up. I recently gave Dreamweaver a chance, and I'm enjoying it enough to think that I might buy it for my PC.

I think you may be in the dwindling minority. I used to use notepad for logging and notes when I found the time/date stamp under F5, but once I tasted the sweetness of Notepad++ I will never use notepad again.

The compare function is worth its weight in gold alone, not to mention the support for php, html, tabbed documents, excellent search, commenting... pah the feature list is way beyond my feeble skills.

Well worth a donation and indispensable now.

I think you must be a very, very, very talented person to use note pad. I can not imagine being able to get to that point. If I ever do (doubtful) I imagine I would be pretty good at what I was doing. Sometimes being in a dwindling minority can be good. You are retaining skills some of us never had!
