Default Custom fonts?

Is there a way to have custom fonts on your web page? I saw a site today that was using custom fonts on the page. It wasn't an image or anything because I was able to copy the text. Is this possible to do with PHP?

This is not done with PHP. This is done with HTML.

See here: w3schools dot com/HTML/html_styles.asp

The above link will teach you about using fonts and other styles with HTML. Keep in mind that the font you choose must be on all your viewers computers. If it is not most browsers will default to the default font defined by the client (Usually Times New Roman).

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I knew the fonts were custom because they were fonts that I didn't have installed. They were very distinctive, highly decorative fonts that I'm sure I would have remembered installing.

I'm trying to find that site again so I can show you but I just can't remember what it was. I do remember the fonts, though, which was about the only thing I remembered about it. :/

If you didn't have the fonts installed, they would not have showed. Thus you did have them installed just probably wasn't aware of it. I would not recommend using fonts that most people don't have though because they will never see them anyways.

I think you're talking about FLIR (Facelift Image Replacement). That, or sIFR. FLIR is the better option, though. I've never used it before since I don't have much use for custom typography.

Thanks, guys! kirkas, thanks for the link to FLIR. That wasn't exactly the site I saw, but it's close enough for me. It looks better, actually. :D
