I have 2 computers connected to a router and the router it's connected to a switch. I haven't done any configurations to my router and it's working very good. From what i know, all of he computers that are connected to the router must have the ip started from: 192.0.0.1, 192.0.0.2 . Last number represent the number of the computer conected. i hope this post it's helphully.
