Do you guys have a network monitoring service to see all the services running on the server, or is this where you make all updates to outages and so forth?
That's great. Thanks for the fast reply, sorry it took me so long to follow up on the thread here I have been really busy. I think monitoring services are almost a must these days, especially if you have a site with super heavy traffic.
For example, to determine the status of a webserver, monitoring software may periodically send an HTTP request to fetch a page; for email servers, a test message might be sent through SMTP and retrieved by IMAP or POP3.
