Question Can MySQL handle millions of users data?

Hi

May be my question looks idiotic, but anyhow I would like to know will mysql is capable to cope up million of users data. I am planning to create a website like yahoo answers where users can respond or answer other members questions.

Obviously mysql is able to handle millions of users data without any problem, as it is an enterprise solution. Surely it can cope up terabytes size data. You just need an enough disk space.

Default Can MySQL handle millions of users data?

The database will be partitioned by date. We are curreltly using Oracle 8i but the cost has driven us to look at alternatives. I have read many articles that say that MySQL handles as good or better than Oracle. I would like someone to tell me, from experience, if that is the case. We insert about 10 million rows a day. We may have a million rows returned by one query. We will have 15 concurrent users. 2 main tables will be the ones that contain most of the data that is returned by a query. We might have about 6 conditions per query. Some might have more, some less.
