Default Mysql 4.1 and 5.x

Hi

I am facing a problem with one of my scripts, it won't run on mysql 5.x. So can you please tell me whether it is possible to run mysql 4.1 and 5.x on the same server.

It is possible you just need to use different port and Mysql sockets. However you need to look at the warning. You cannot use both servers to edit one database, if you do that, lots of problems will occur. I think you can also do this from cPanel, however the administration tools in cPanel itself will just work with the default Mysql setup. If you are going to do some custom work it cannot be managed and that will cause a some problem in terms of management. So that is the reason it is not highly recommended.

I would really advise you to stick with one, find what works and stay with it. I tried to do what you are asking about, I did not head the warnings. And it ended up being more hassle then it was worth.
