Anyone run SMF/have SQL issues

Figure this out, this past week or so they came out with the 1.1.11 update, now I am randomly getting SQL time outs and the only suggestion is to up the time limit for SQL timeout values. Shouldnt this not be happening to start with? Thats a bandaid, not a real fix. Hammering

I don't run SMF however I have heard a lot about their issues lately. It seems they prefer work arounds (bandaids as you called it) rather than correcting the issue. They really need to get on the ball before their users start moving to other forum scripts.
